President Prof. Dr. Michael Schaepman signs the agreement

Partnership with University of Queensland

The two universities signed a partnership plan for a strategic alliance in early 2021. This alliance is based on several years of close collaboration in various research and teaching areas, including criminal law, occupational psychology or biology. Since 2017, the University of Queensland and the University of Zurich have both been members of Universitas 21 and in this framework student mobility between the two institutions has increased significantly as well. The UZH International Summer Schools have proved to be particularly popular amongst students from the University of Queensland. Over the next two years, closer collaborations are envisaged in the areas of green chemistry, longevity, neurosciences and imaging.

The University of Zurich has gained a strong and attractive partner in Oceania with the University of Queensland.

Research, teaching and communication

The University of Queensland and UZH have established a funding scheme for joint research, teaching and outreach to facilitate cooperation within the strategic partnership. The funding enables teaching staff and researchers to step up collaboration by supporting the development of outstanding joint projects.
