Call for junior LIAS fellows – Water: Scarcity and Flooding

The call for junior LIAS fellowship by the Leuven Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) is now open.

LIAS gathers scientific insights on major societal challenges, based on international and interdisciplinary discussion between leading researchers. This interaction sets out to overcome and transcend traditional disciplinary thinking. LIAS is now launching a new call for its junior fellows programme specifically for advanced Ph.D. students, postdocs or junior faculty members (tenure track) of Una Europa Universities, including the University of Zurich. Applicants will be able to participate with senior fellows in expert workshops, discussions and lectures as well as actively engage with the LIAS community.

This year’s focus is on “Water: scarcity and flooding”, including following tracks:

  • Challenges and solutions to the increasing trends of droughts and floods as a consequence of climate change
  • Water use, behavioral change and communication
  • Link with collective memory
  • Spatial planning and land use
  • Policy options and legal status of water

More information about the call and application process can be found on the LIAS website.

LIAS will cover all travel and hotel costs for junior fellows for a stay, up to 14 days in Leuven with a maximum of € 1,000 for the total stay.

Deadline: March 22
