Una Europa General Assembly at UZH: Advancing Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Health Initiatives

The University of Zurich has hosted its first Una Europa General Assembly. Focusing on the topic "One Health", the event presented one of UZH's strategic priorities and its new One Health Institute. In an interview, Vice President Elisabeth Stark emphasized the transformative potential of the alliance to advance education and research worldwide.

Last month, the University of Zurich had the honor of hosting its first Una Europa General Assembly, marking a significant step in fostering international and interdisciplinary academic collaboration. Vice President Elisabeth Stark expressed her enthusiasm for the potential of these alliances to positively impact educational and research frameworks.

This year's theme, "One Earth, One Future," highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing global challenges, with a particular focus on "One Health." This theme is both a key focus area for Una Europa and a strategic priority for UZH, showcased through its newly established One Health Institute.

In a recent interview, Vice President Stark emphasized the transformative impact of the Una Europa alliance, enabling UZH to engage more fully in international research programs despite Switzerland's non-EU status. She noted that areas like One Health align with UZH's research, innovation, and teaching goals. Stark also praised the event's effective exchange of ideas and collaborative spirit, foreseeing a future where interdisciplinary and cross-border partnerships tackle pressing global issues.

The two-and-a-half-day event underscored the value of interdisciplinary work and strong international partnerships. As UZH continues to lead within Una Europa, these collaborations promise to enhance educational structures and research outcomes.
