Seminar Series on Transnational Organized Crime: A University of Queensland–UZH Success Story

The “Transnational Organized Crime” seminar series, addressing Bachelor and Master students, and jointly organized by UZH, the University of Queensland, and the University of Vienna, has successfully concluded.

This year’s interdisciplinary seminar focused on the issue of cybercrime and benefited from the additional participation of experts from the University of Cologne and the University of Ferrara, who became co-organizers of the seminar series in 2023.

During this year’s seminar, which took place at UZH, students examined various topics, from cybercrime's legal parameters to its role in aiding other criminal activities and its connection with organized crime networks.

The seminar series is a result of the longstanding collaboration between Christian Schwarzenegger, UZH's Vice President of Faculty Affairs and Scientific Information and Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, and Criminology, and Gian Ege, Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at UZH, and their counterpart at the University of Queensland, Professor Andreas Schloenhardt. Their collaboration is an integral part of the strategic alliance between UZH and the University of Queensland.
